On May 16, 2016, GENESIS obtained New Drug and Production Approval of CFDA for Mycoplasma Pneumoniae Antigen Rapid Diagnostic Test Kit. M. pneumoniae is a human pathogen that causes the community acquired pneumonia, exp. among the children. The current test kit is to qualitatively detect the antigen of P1 gene of M. pneumonia from the specimen collected from the suspicious patients infected by M. pneumoniae.
The test strip of the kit is composed of the following parts: namely sample pad, reagent pad, reaction membrane, and absorbing pad. The reagent pad contains the colloidal-gold conjugated with the monoclonal antibodies against M. pneumoniae; the reaction membrane contains the secondary antibodies for M. pneumoniae and the polyclonal antibodies against the mouse globulin, which are pre-immobilized on the membrane. The whole strip is fixed inside a plastic device.
When the sample is added into the sample window, conjugates dried in the reagent pad are solubilized and migrate along with the sample. If M. pneumoniae presents in the sample, a complex formed between the anti- M. pneumoniae conjugate and the M. pneumoniae will be captured by the specific anti- M. pneumoniae monoclonal antibody coated on the Test Region(T). Results appear around 15 minutes in the form of a red line that develops on the membrane.
To serve as a procedural control, a red line will always appear in the control region(C) indicating that the test is valid.
